Project Overview

Banksia has been publishing the in-vehicle magazine for THL Australia since 2003. The concept and purpose of the magazine is to provide customers of THL Australia with detailed travel information while they are on holidays around Australia – and give them ‘incentives’ to visit regional areas of Australia, and to encourage the experience of local tours and attractions Australia-wide. The magazines are distributed via all their rental vehicles (Britz, Maui, Backpacker and Explore More rentals) from 11 branches around Australia. The magazine also provides essential ‘vehicle operations’ information for customers – a must-read section to assist clients.

makeTracks magazine includes key stories and articles, travel images, regular features, and drive routes to encourage visitors to ‘head off the beaten track’; and regular sections including recipes, Australian books and music, National Parks, to provide interesting facts, especially for international visitors. To encourage customers to visit local tours and attractions a 16-page insert including perforated discount coupons – called Super Savers – are provided exclusively to THL customers to use while on holidays. Advertising content covers travel product and destinations Australia-wide. The magazine is successful as it is ‘delivered’ directly into the hands of the readers, the self-drive customer. Many advertisers have been repeat customers since 2003. The magazine is also available to view online at: with suggested Australia-wide itineraries to provide further travel information for customers. All magazine advertising sales are undertaken by Banksia, contact us if you would like more information.
